About SAVAS
About Us
Sexual Assault Victims Advocacy Service (SAVAS) is the Sexual Assault Crisis Center for Prince William County, Manassas City, and Manassas Park, Virginia. SAVAS serves both the English- and Spanish-speaking communities. All services are provided at no cost to all victims of sexual assault and their loved ones.
SAVAS was founded in 1983 as a private non-profit agency. Over the years, SAVAS has received funding through a variety of sources including the State of Virginia, Victims of Crime Act Funds, Department of Criminal Justice, Virginia Department of Health, Department of Social Services, The United Way, Combined Federal Campaign, and Prince William County. In addition, SAVAS has received generous donations from local businesses and private citizens and engaged in numerous successful fundraisers with the help of dedicated staff and volunteers.
Mission Statement
SAVAS is dedicated to survivors of sexual assault, and to ending sexual assault in our community. We provide a safe environment in order to encourage survivors of rape and sexual abuse to come forward. We are pledged to return to these survivors the power of making their own decisions and helping them contribute to their own recovery. To this end, SAVAS advocates for survivors and their loved ones and works to educate the community on childhood sexual abuse and rape.
